This classic style cluster ring is a wondrous joining of the antique and modern. The 1.51 carat oval faceted sapphire with its surround of fourteen (14) sparkling diamonds and six (6) diamond-set sides are all antique and are at least a century in age.
A modern platinum-topped 18k yellow gold mounting takes the centenarian gems to new heights with its gold open work under-gallery with scalloped edges. The slender gold shank is accented with two millegrain platinum cartouches each set with three (3) diamonds which bring the total diamond weight of the ring to .18 carats (I-J color; VS2-SI1 clarity). The sapphire, a very silky blue with medium dark saturation is well-suited for the brilliance of the diamond halo.
