SPECIAL MARKDOWN!
Breathtaking, this Belle Époque jewel serves as a testament to the heights that master artisans could achieve.
A brooch, a pendant, a watch pendant, and together a pinnacle of the fine haute joaillerie or high jewelry of circa 1900.
The motifs are the eternal flaming torch of love above, which likely represents, the urn that would smolder with ardor's fire. Diamonds, natural saltwater pearls, exceptional enamel work, 18k yellow gold, and silver were the ingredients for this collector's and wearer's dreams.
A flower with diamonds also adorns the love torch along with enamel.
Neoclassical designs to the urn in champlevé enamel with a coppery orange hue add to the diamond and pearl work. A royal blue enamel dial serves as the watch face.
In 360 degree finery, the urn is decorated front and back with the same designs, pearls, and diamonds. The torch is both a brooch and displays a watch hanger fitting along with a safety chain.
The watch runs but not consistently and does not keep time. Rather than disturb this important jewel, we have chosen not to remove it.
One never tires of seeing the best.
