Story
With elegance and impeccable artistry, the curves of this Art Nouveau period ring sparkle with two antique diamonds along with a natural vivid blue sapphire.
The French were known for their distinctive textural gold technique and this antique ring displays that visually appealing characteristic style to perfection.
Of 18k yellow gold, the setting uses opposing curves and flourishes to highlight the deep and lively hued oval sapphire of .65 carats. At an angle are set two old European diamonds of a total of .15 carats (H-I color, VS2-SI1 clarity) in platinum coronet mounts.
Did you know that French rings are hallmarked on the outer surface of the back of the ring? The horse's head French poinçon (hallmark), which was used from 1847-1919 is also accompanied by another French mark but is illegible.
