Story
The surface of a breathtaking 2.75 carat oval faceted amethyst has been carved with the image of a flower in bloom. Known as an intaglio, the design has been cut into the gem. Highly detailed, even the veins of the leaves are apparent.
The entire foliate form has been painted gold and the center of the blossom inset with a .01 carat rose cut diamond (color I-J, SI1-2 clarity). Often referred to as a rose of Sharon, the amethyst simply glows with color and life.
Rose gold of 14k has been chosen for the ornate mounting. Classic late nineteenth century style displays patterning and designs on raised shoulders and wide shank.
Overall, the antique ring generates an intimate feeling being in touch with nature combined with the hand of master jewelers.
