Story
Just a hint of that red in this vintage Art Deco halo ring will catch your eye and remind you that Spring is on its way. Often mistaken as a ruby, red spinels have been included in the collection of crown jewels including those of Great Britain.
This particular gemstone possesses that special crimson hue that is sought after by most, and is one of the harder shades to find.
Beautiful enough by themselves, this oval faceted spinel of .55 carats is enhanced by being surrounded with a halo of ten old European cut diamonds, total weight of .50 carats (I-J color; SI1-3 clarity).
All the diamonds are set in 14k white gold. A warm 14k yellow gold tapered shank adds a silken feel to the whole.
