Story
A crossover or “Moi et Toi” ring features the end points of the shank which “crossover” or bypass the other. Typically each arm is set with gems or diamonds with at least one center stone. This type of finger ring is thought to have originated as an engagement ring during the late 1800s.
This particular example is a variation of the typical crossover ring, Here the shank of 18k white gold accented with mille grain work is crafted in the guise of a ribbon set with twenty-four brilliant cut diamonds.
With a total weight of .48 carats (H-I color; VS2-SI1 clarity) glittering illuminates each arc. Please note the notched terminals emulating the clipped ends of a ribbon.
Secured between is a glowing ruby of 1.5 carats. The 7.17 by 6.35 by 4.22 mm oval faceted stone displays a true “ruby red” color. Perfect for the dramatic contrast with the diamonds and mount.
