Story
Here an antique 14k rose gold ring utilizes the gorgeous port wine color of pyrope garnets to the best advantage. Set vertically, two round faceted garnets, total weight of 1.80 carats are placed slightly at an angle.
This offset is harmoniously balanced by juxtaposing two rose cut diamonds, total of .10 carats (H-I color; VS2-SI1 clarity) also a bit askew at the center juncture of the garnets.
Quite interestingly, the mount displays openwork shoulders which connect with prongs crafted to appear almost claw-like in appearance. The flavor of Art Nouveau and its dynamic sense of coiled energy is subtly communicated through the use of this “animal” aspect translated into metal.
