The motifs used in the Art Deco style were exotic with designers drawing from the architectural forms and elements of ancient civilizations.

Egypt, in particular had an almost hypnotic influence on the stylings of Art Deco. The 1922 discovery of the tomb of King Tut with all its marvelous furnishing created a massive trend of cultural icons from the land of the Pharaohs.

A gorgeous oval pink tourmaline cabochon of 9 carats has been incised with a magical carving of a stylized lotus flower. Representing Upper Egypt, this image was associated with Amun Ra, the sun god of creation and rebirth.

The majestic 19 by 11.5 by 5.06 mm gem is regally set within an ornate mounting of 18k white gold. Exquisite engraving and precious metal open work brings the myths of ancient Egypt to present day.

Set into each of the detailed shoulders is a cultured 2 mm white pearl bringing the luster of modern day to the eons of time past.
