When asked what color is a sapphire, most people will respond “blue, of course”. In the world of gems the answer includes not only blue but also pink, green, purple, orange, yellow and even white.
Here a modern platinum ring utilizes two of the fabulous hues that the sapphire has to offer — pink and purple. These stones have not been exposed to any form of heat treatment to enhance or change their natural coloration.
A gorgeous 2.28 carat oval faceted purple sapphire takes center stage in a trio of a three stone sapphire ring. Flanking the passionate purple gem are a total 1.65 carats for two (2) oval faceted pink sapphires.
Set horizontally in individual mille grain accented bezels, thirty (30) brilliant cut diamonds form a scalloped surround creating a very feminine profile for the ring. Split shoulders are appointed with six (6) more of these brilliant cuts bringing thirty-six (36) diamond total to .52 carats (I-J color; VS2-SI1 clarity).
A lovely open work under-gallery and slender sides add to the modern design.
