Story
Everything waxes and wanes in style and fashion. Enamel surged to prominence and became "the" form of decoration in the Renaissance and for years after. Waning in popularity, it again rose in significance from 1790 to about 1810.
Circa 1880, its utilization resurfaced again. In fact enamel enjoyed a long span of popularity through the early 1930's. Art Deco’s interpretation employed deep and saturated colors such as blacks, oranges, greens and reds.
In 14k yellow gold, this circa 1930s ring is inlaid with inky black and Kelly green enameled in a stylized geometry around the border.
