Story

Citrine has been prized for a number of centuries. The origin of the name is from the French for “citron” or lemon. The natural color of the gem is a tad more golden than one might anticipate from such an etiology. This oval faceted natural citrine is estimated at 5.5 carats. An exceptionally pretty gem, its multiplicity of faceting gives it plenty of sparkle and lots of fire with its rich and vivid coloration. A most attractive 14k and 18k white gold filigree mounting sports scroll motifs and foliate forms well matched for the sunny disposition of the stone. Images of fields of daisies swaying in the breeze with their sunny centers comes to mind.

Date: Circa 1930.
