Story

Antique French jewelry is renowned for its exquisite design and meticulous craftsmanship. Typically fabricated in 18k yellow gold, this turn of the 20th century pendant from the "Golden Age" aka the Belle Époque has three part construction which features bows, flower forms and a pendant drop. The overall flavor of the piece is neoclassical open work of high carat gold.

Overtly symmetrical, a wreath of laurel leaves contains a crimson enamel backed ”medallion” of X forms centered with a natural freshwater pearl. Quatrefoil elements, leaves and flowers and strong rococo influences are adorned with knife edged gold work of matte finished gold. A bow motif bale harmonizes with a natural freshwater pearl drop surmounted by yet another bow form. The pendant is accompanied by an adjustable in length flattened rolo chain.

Date: Circa 1900.
