Story

Jewelry took on a decidedly strong profile from the early and mid 1940s. With the advent of the war, bands of woven gold and tank track-like configuration were incorporated into rings and bracelets for a stylized military look.

Most of these were fashioned in rose gold and set with rubies, diamonds or both. Featured here is a a unique example of a white on white theme using 14k white gold and diamonds and the first we have ever presented.

Employing the “belt and strap” or buckle motif, the ring is fully adjustable. It functions exactly like a belt and opens into a flat “strap” of interwoven wavy white gold links with the buckle lifting up and down to secure the strap. The ring is adorned with seven (7) single cut diamonds on the buckle and seven (7) of these sparkly diamonds at the end of the belt bringing the total estimated diamond weight to .20 carats. This can be worn by someone with almost any size finger, from a ring size of 9-1/4 down to any size above 2. However, please note that at the very small sizes the strap end may flap a bit.

Date: Circa 1940.
