Story

Established since 1887, the Allsopp Brothers were part of the well-known cabal of the Newark, New Jersey jewelry manufacturers. Known for their fine gold rings, this example personifies the design and detail work that made a name for this jewelry house.

The medium pale blue of an oval and faceted natural aquamarine of an estimated 2.6 carats is the perfect counterpoint for yellow gold of 14k. A deliciously detailed oval bezel embraces the pastel hue and adds its own mystique to the ring. Open work shoulders incorporate a stylized meandros or Greek key form in response to the geometric forms embraced by the Art Deco period. Please make note of the lovely worked gallery design.

Date: Circa 1925.
