Story

The dormeuse earring is sometimes known as a sleeper earring. The back to front ear wire construction is such that there is no discomfort if one were to sleep with the jewelry. As the front of the earring is directly attached to the lever back wire, there is not as much as a tab of pressure placed on the earlobes.

This pair from the Belle Époque is very petite is its proportions. Darling little pie plate-like scalloped edges contain a five petal flowerhead set with a turquoise en cabochon. All in 18k yellow gold and so delicious.

Date: Circa 1910.
