Story

The Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland have a tradition of jewelry making from the time of the Vikings and many of the pieces reflected those early Nordic roots. The turning of the 20th century brought with it not only a new century but also fresh inspiration for the artisans and jewelry designers of the far north to begin to produce their own styles.

Crafted in sterling silver is an open work pendant reflecting the strong influence Edwardian design had over most of Western Europe, the UK and the United States. From the paste-studded bow form surmount to the central foliate motif this necklace displays its classical beginnings. Note the subtle and distinct design of the chain.

Date: Circa 1920.
