Story

Rose cut diamonds have a little secret all their own. These gems are flat back and as a result show their beauty where it counts – in the diameter giving the visual appearance of a much larger diamond. This dictum is “apparent” in these Art Deco platinum earrings.

A pair of rose cut diamond drops, each measuring 8 mm in diameter have an estimated weight of .85 and .80 carats (I-J color range; SI2 clarity for clear inclusions mostly on the edges) respectively. However, due to the manner in which the diamonds were cut, the gems are visually perceived to be about 1.8 carats each!

Each of these glorious ladies is suspended from a line set with three (3) accent diamonds – five (5) old European cuts and one (1) old single cut which bring the total estimated diamond weight to 1.06 and 1.01 carats for the pair. Please note the mille grain detailing and fine azuring of the earrings.

THE FINE PRINT

Due to the nature of antique & vintage jewelry, many diamond and gemstone weights are calculated by measurements, not removed. Actual weights are noted in the item's description. Grading of diamonds and gemstones may vary slightly when removed.

HONESTY

Being as honest as possible about the items we represent for sale is our ultimate goal! Our pricing is industry recognized as fair and equitable with value as the byword.

Measurements: ¾ of an inch (1.9 cm) in length by 3/8 of an inch (0.9 cm) in width. Weight of 2.4 grams (1.5 dwt) for the pair including ear nuts.

Condition: Very good; one diamond with edge wear and 2 edge chips almost under the bezel only visible with a loupe.

Note: Diamonds have not been removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting. All diamond weights have been approximated by measurement and formula and may vary from actual weights. Grading has been done in situ and also may vary if stones are removed.
