Story

Jewelry designers in the later years of the Art Deco period shifted their focus from a vertical to a more horizontal profile. This example highlights that change with the use of both white and yellow gold of 14k. An old European cut diamond of an estimated .25 carats (I-J color; SI1 clarity) has been set within a square mount of white gold. This “white on white” theme creates a visual image of a diamond more dramatic and much larger than its actual size. The yellow gold shank and accents make for a lovely contrast with the white gold floral and heart motif details.

Date: Circa 1935.
