Story
During the Art Nouveau period, the use of mistletoe leaves and berries was a favored theme. Elegant and shapely, the veined leaves and their "U" shaped curves create evocative shapes.
Naturally, the symbolism was not lost on those creating and buying these and the French seemed to pick this design motif for jewelry as well as decorative objects such a pill boxes and desk seals.
A showy and large oval-shaped slide locket divides at the top to reveal the original mirrors inside. On the other interior side, a frame and glass await a photograph or a treasured memento.
On both facing sides, mistletoe designs are raised above the polished silver surface. Each edge continues the theme with leaves designs as a border.
