Does it resonate with a modern vibe or is it pure Victoriana? You might agree it's both. Many of the designs in the latter part of the 19th century are surprisingly bold, fashion forward even for today, and downright irresistible.
A weighty and wonderful sterling silver book chain collar necklace uses surface texture, shape, patterns and engraving for an all-out style-maven presence.
Three types of links form a slinky wide swathe of sterling silver. A center, textured fold over link starts off the necklace. Then on each side, two rows of higher polished fold over links add to the mix.
Added to that are diagonal, thinner braided or twisted links. For more visual intrigue, on the inner edge are placed silver orbs or beads. The outer edge displays a series of silver discs engraved with an organic pattern.
For the final touch, a unique fan shaped clasp all hand engraved with leaves that create areas of light and dark and with a safety chain for security.
Can't you just see this atop a simple dress or tucked under a French white blouse?
