Story
The mid-Victorian Era produced some of the most beautiful earrings created. Known as the Grand Period, jewelry was influenced by the ornamentation of such cultures as the ancient Greeks and Etruscans due to the impact of the masterful Castellani family.
Amazing twisted wire work appoints these 14k yellow gold earrings. Swerves and curves wend their way all around the surface of a spherical drop.
The front of the earring is embellished with a bold diagonally placed rectangular stripe set with four square cut garnets, total for the pair of .16 carats. The gems look like a pyramidal-shape rising up from a golden bezel akin to the yellow sand of the desert.
Protruding at the south terminus of the globe is a small golden orb. Its counterpoint at the apex is an affixed “O” ring through which the kidney shaped earring fitting is threaded. Petite in size and light in weight has this antique Victorian as the perfect everyday accessory.
