Story
Edwardian jewelers often incorporated a re-interpreted eighteenth century style in their designs. Motifs of ribbons and bows, swags and garlands were everywhere.
With the advent of using platinum, these designers were now able to create items which appeared delicate yet had the tensile strength associated with that remarkable precious metal.
Although Edwardian in date, this pair of platinum-topped 14k yellow gold earrings says SEXY all in capital letters. Evocative, the earring gives the impression of being lighter than air itself. The form utilizes the image of a length of gossamer ribbon wafting in the breeze.
Composed of two elements, the surmount takes on a flower form and suspends the sensuous ribbon motif. The pair is literally covered with thirty-two (32) diamonds, total weight 1.65 carats (H-J color; SI1-I1 clarity). Seizes range for .10 carat down to .02 carats.
A perfect medium length, wearable from work to evenings.
