Story

The opening of the cultural doors of Japan at the end of the 19th century brought the fabulous motif of the peacock into the eyes and minds of the fashionista of the West. This striking image continued to be used well into the 1920s.

Here is nature’s elaborate construction rendered in the guise of a silver brooch. Spreading his train of feathers in a magnificent display of open work, this resplendent bird is dotted throughout with clear white pastes certain to stir a fire from within. Nice detail, the representative figure of the feisty avian will brighten up even a cloudy day.
