Story
One of the trademark signs of French paste jewelry from the turn of the twentieth century is the characteristic use of the colors of pink and white or pink with green. This combination is a clue which can give the impetus to further investigate the presence of French hallmarks. One to the reverse on the very tip is present on this pendant.
Crafted of sterling silver, this is a slide pendant. Made to be worn around the neck by threading a ribbon through the two vertical fittings to the reverse. Typically worn at the neck, the length of the ribbon can be adjusted for any desired length. A chain works beautifully as well.
Composed of three elements, the 18th century classical influence manifests itself in the reinterpretation of an old theme of fluidity of line and a lightness and delicacy of style. Lengths of chain connect the main open work components which feature large green and pink pastes accented with sparkling marcasites. A small pendant dangle set with pink paste balances the symmetry of the slide. All pastes are set closed back.
