Story
Did you know that the garnet has a variety of sub-varieties? Not only are there garnets within the entire range of red, these gems can include the hues of yellow and green. Rhodolite is among the red family and its color, somewhat lighter and more purplish lies somewhere between the pyrope and almandine garnet with purplish red to reddish purple.
Perfect for this pair of Edwardian era earrings, the rhodolite garnet just glows against the warm antique 14k yellow gold. The pair features oval faceted gems (one of 4.6 carats and the other 4.2 carats) as beautiful pendant drops.
Each garnet is in a delightful modified coronet setting with a scalloped edge and a bezel-like mount. For the pair an old mine cut diamond of .15 carats (total of .30 carats with I-L color and SI1-2 clarity) acts as surmount with the mount integrated into the kidney-shaped ear wires.
