Pale rose gold of 14k is the metal of choice for a very large double-sided photograph locket. Round in shape, the glass and gold locket is one of the largest of its type we have had. Beveled convex rounds of glass fit perfectly within bezels of rose gold securely hinged together to keep forever close a photograph and curl of hair.
Date: Circa 1900
Measurements: 1-13/16 inches (4.7 cm) in length including two top “O” fittings by 3/8 of an inch (1 cm) in width by 1-7/16 inches (3.7 cm) in diameter. Weight of 20.2 grams (13.0 dwt).
Condition: Excellent.
Hallmarks: Austria-Hungary dog's head mark used from 1872 – 1922; possibly from assay office of Pest in Hungary.
Origin: Austro-Hungarian Empire.
