Rendered with a confident hand, this is a classic Art Nouveau design with its scrolling waves, asymmetrical patterns, and a suggestion of an underwater oceanscape with seaweed and shell. Petite flowers also dot both the front and back.

Measurements: Length of 3 1/8 and the oval is 2 1/4 inches and 1 5/8 inches wide and less than 1/2 inch deep. Weight of 37.0 grams.

Hallmarks: French boar's head mark.

Condition: Excellent to the exterior; interior of one compartment has some patina; the mirrors silver is mostly mottled and missing and so dark, you can only barely see your reflection.

Origin: French.
