Classic Edwardian Amethyst Drop Earrings
Elegant, timeless and in classic Edwardian style, these circa 1910 pendant drop earrings are clad in sophistication. Distinctive to the period, their delicate look dominated the jewelry of that era.
Faceted natural amethysts, a gem favored by Princess Alexandra have been cut in both round and pear shape to form a simple yet refined pendant drop earring. Clad in warm 10k yellow gold, the round surmount is accented with a scalloped perimeter which suspends a pear-shaped drop from one length of gold chain. Later date 18k yellow gold ear wires have been added.
Measurements: 1-3/8 inches (3.3 cm) in length including ear wire and 1-3/16 (3 cm) without. Weight of 2.8 grams (1.8 dwt) for the pair.
Condition: Excellent; later date ear wires.
