Art Deco 36" Pools of Light Necklace
As the chameleon of the jewelry world, the pools of light necklace goes with almost any fashion or hue. With its universal appeal that knows few bounds, the crystals reflect the colors that they surround as they take on the tones of fabric against which they rest. Visually striking and cool to the eye, a pools of light necklace presents with an enchanting and collected presence.
To form true “pools of light” orbs of clear rock crystal are never drilled, as the Chinese believed that the good luck that resided within would escape. Consequently, the spheres are wrapped with metal or with wire, as is this necklace. Strands of silver encircle each of the tiny crystal balls joined one to another with minute oval links of silver chain. This necklace is a versatile length which can be doubled or knotted in the fashion of a flapper.
Measurements: 36 inches (91.4 cm) in total length and hangs down approximately 18 inches (45.7 cm). Each orb is 9/16 of an inch (1.5 cm) in diameter. This necklace has a weight of 108.7 grams (69.9 dwt).
Date & Origin: Circa 1925 and is Chinese in origin.
