Emerald Diamond Crossover Ring
Newman’s An Illustrated Dictionary of Jewelry defines a crossover ring as “a type of finger ring, the shank of which exceeds a full circle and is wrapped around the finger so that the two terminals overlay and lie alongside each other, each usually being set with a gemstone.”
With a swirl of sensuality, this mid 20th century platinum crossover ring displays a round brilliant cut diamond of an estimated .90 carats and an emerald cut emerald of about .55 carats to their full advantage. The combination of the brilliant green emerald and the bright whiteness of the diamond (color of K and clarity VS1) against the icy coolness of the platinum setting will create a stir no matter where the ring is worn.
