Art Nouveau Gargoyle Gold Ring
A phantasmagorical image of an open mouthed gargoyle is the motif for this 18k yellow gold ring. Circa 1900, the Art Nouveau influence is evident in every line, flowing curves, imagery, and overall sense of style. August in weight for its size, exquisite workmanship and style, the brushed matte finish and deep gold work highlight the subject of choice.
Condition: Excellent with overall light wear; light medium wear on the shank; evidence of an old resizing visible with a loupe.
Measurements: 1/2 of an inch (1.2 cm) at the widest north to south on the finger. Currently a size US 6 (UK L-1/2; Euro 16.5, 52.5 mm). This antique ring has a weight of 10.2 grams.
