A Fashionista's Dream - Long Piqué Earrings

SOLD Item 10827

Sure to garner glances of envy, these fashionable and very long and lean antique Victorian earrings showcase the lost decorative art of inserting metal into a medium to form designs. Fantastic silver piqué detailing carries patterns reminiscent of 18th century motifs of baskets with trailing vines and flowers in a luxuriously length of natural tortoiseshell. These earrings are light on the ear and fashion forward with a modern overall form, it is difficult to believe that they were not specifically created for Fashion Week.

Measurements: 3-7/8 inches (9.6 cm) in length including gold ear wire over ¼ of an inch (0.8 cm). Surmount orb is 3/8 of an inch (1 cm) in diameter. Weight of 17.1 grams for the pair.

Condition: Excellent; all original; very faint mottling on the underside.

Date: Circa 1860
