Regal and rococo in design, this magnificent pendant fob & seal has been adorned with natural emeralds. Yes, emeralds, a rarity in seals and the first we have offered.
Three parts are connected in lavish style with a top twisted bale added later. An exuberant veritable garden of scrollwork, flora, and a riot of leaves and vine-like designs takes your breath away.
Its striking beauty arises from not only the raised designs but also the mixture of silver and 15k and 18k yellow gold. Every surface on the front and of the entire seal area is a passionate expression of the era of over-the-top and ornate.
Just look at that seal! Bands of varying patterns, swags, various blooms, and acanthus leaves, coalesce in harmony. All handmade, imagining the hours it took to create this is unthinkable in today's stamped-out, machined world.
Heavy and weighty, the bottom of the seal is dyed green agate smooth, and unengraved.
The condition overall is amazing. This appears to have been worn on a ribbon which was then converted to a pendant. Note that the gold and silver bands connected by leaf motifs served as part of the fitting to hold the grosgrain ribbon.
Superlative in every respect, and just compare its price, if you can find anything of this quality and condition.
