Story
From Edward Hope Kirkby of Australia comes this Edwardian 18k gold, ruby and diamond ring.
With an old mine cut diamond of .10 carats (H-I color, SI2-3 clarity for clear inclusions) and two red natural rubies of a total of .06 carats, the ring possess beautiful harmony and symmetry.
Each of the stones is gypsy set (below the surface) with the diamond in a star surround. The band or shank is plain and with a soft polished surface.
Eco friendly, low profile and ideal for any active lifestyle, it dates to circa 1900.
Note: Mr. Kirby was known as a jeweller, watchmaker and "technical genius" having then transitioned into inventing and experimenting with X-Rays, wireless and fire prevention systems. Many of his process and groundbreaking discoveries were overshadowed by other so his name is rarely recognized.
