Story
Medium in width at 11/16 inches (18 mm), this antique sterling silver bangle bracelet uses pattern and two colors of gold resulting in a dynamic piece of wearable art.
Running the front half, a diagonal stripe of raised silver ripples across the surface. To each side, a twin but finer pattern sets off the center. Next, two more stripes of ornate relief repeat above and below.
These surfaces create a myriad of lights and darks for shadow and sheen in an eye-catching design.
Rose and yellow gold over silver appliques of flowers and leaves, along with hand engraved linear swooshes, fill in the remainder. Highly polished, the back is unadorned. A complete set of English hallmarks dates this to 1886.
