Story

Encircle the neck with a bold look yet with design work and detail that mesh in perfect harmony with the visage. Sterling silver forms alternating links in both style and coloration - one smooth silver, one with deep crevices that allow inky patina within to bring out the highlights.

One link with pierced open work contrasts seamlessly with a link of scallop shell and rectangular motifs. Beaded edges impart a frilled look visually softening the metal's intrinsic hardness.

Often termed a book chain, due to the folded nature of some of the links, the collar dates to circa 1880.
