Scarce & Exquisite Art Deco Arrowhead Stick Pin
We at The Three Graces have the fortune to have superlative and rare articles of jewelry pass through our hands. Yet there are those occasions when we come across an item which immediately becomes one of our personal favorites such as this circa 1920 stick pin.
Exquisite and meticulous craftsmanship has created a realistic representation of a Native American artifact. A section of hard stone has been shaped into an arrowhead so similar to one which had been designed and made thousands of years ago. The arrowhead, attached to a “shaft” of gold engraved with designs is secured using simulated sinew of white gold. Textured feathers of green, yellow gold and pink gold are so lifelike even the stem and vane of individual barbs and barbules are visible to the naked eye. A gold needle completes the rare stickpin.
Date: Circa 1920.
Measurements: 2-5/8 inches (6.7 cm) in total length. Arrowhead is 1-1/8 inches (2.8 cm) by 9/16 inches (1.4 cm). Weight of 3.1 grams (2.0 dwt).
