Supremely Sleek - Day Night Pinchbeck Georgian Earrings
Day night earrings fall into that category of “must haves”. Two styles from one pair of antique earrings lend versatility to any jewelry wardrobe. Composed of separate surmount and drop, the top may be worn solo for a casual daytime look. Adding the pendants offer a more elegant presentation. These antique earrings of collectible Pinchbeck are English circa 1830 – 1840 when fashion called for long and light. Cannetille work on the torpedo drops imparts a sense of length without adding weight. Foliate forms and repoussé leaves enhance the visual interest. The hollow construction allows for increased wearing time with no discomfort.
Each measures 3-5/8 inches in length by ¾ of an inch at the widest (9 cm long by 1.5 cm wide). The top measures 11/16 of an inch in length by 7/8 of an inch across (1.6 cm long by 1.1 cm wide). Condition is fine with light wear overall. There is some very light wear and a few tiny indentations to the plain portion of each cone. The pin holes in the cones are original to construction. Original front to back ear wires facilitate placement through the ear.
