In memory of the brave men of the U.S.S. Maine blown up in Havana Harbor Feb. 15. 1898.

A historic event and a ring to commemorate the lives lost. The sinking of the ship, the cause of which was never definitively proven, ultimately resulted in the Spanish American war in April of the same year.
In fact, Maine was one of the first American battleships ever to launch. More than half the crew was lost in that tragic event.
In sterling silver and enamel, the band poignantly reminds us of the valor of those in our armed forces.
The words quoted above wrap around the ring in raised letters. An eagle's head rests on one end. Thirteen silver stars rest on a backdrop of navy blue enamel.
Dating back to 1777, thirteen stars, from our original flag representing the 13 colonies, were often used by the Navy until 1916.
