What is the jewelry movement known as the archeological revival of the Victorian period?
Simply put, its motifs, techniques, and designs hearken back to classical antiquity hailing from civilizations such as the Greeks, Romans, and Etruscans.
All the archeological discoveries, particularly in the 19th century, spurned a huge interest in the fashion, jewelry, architecture, and other decorative arts of this once flourishing empires.
The techniques are painstaking, and require master craftsmanship with the use of repoussé, granulation, applied wire work, and exquisite designs.
These almandine garnet set earrings are three dimensional and boast cabochon, purple almandine garnets set into a many-petaled floret within a circular concave shell and beaded and twisted wire border.
