Inspired by nature, these Victorian earrings utilize butterfly motifs that are studded with refractive diamonds and rich rubies.
Converted from a brooch or other jewel (not by The Three Graces), the are surprisingly perfect in size, weight, and detail for earrings.
In 18k gold, each butterfly has a front wing and a set-back second wing that provides sculptural realism.
Covered in antique, hand-cut diamonds, along with rubies at the wing tips, and tiny emerald eyes, two for each insect, they are lyrical and symbolic. Each body is textured with segments and higher-polished antennae and legs.
Don them with the butterfly heads facing inward or outward, depending on your mood.
The earrings are suspended from old European and rose-cut diamond tops, and sway as you move. Dazzling and scarce, at 1 1/2 inches in length, they are in the Goldilocks zone for ultimate versatility and wear.
