At a length of 21 1/2 inches, these stylish Mikimoto cultured saltwater Akoya pearls compete most any look.
Radiant and lustrous, and from the famed firm of Mikimoto, who created the art of culturing pearls, their creamy vanilla hues give off a touch of pink with the merest hint of purple.
At 6 mm in diameter, their surfaces are fine, grade A pearls with smooth nacre and high lustrous surfaces. The strand is knotted between each pearl.
In silver, the rectangular box clasp is embellished with linear raised rays of silver, with a 4.3 mm ipearl sits atop.
This comes with its original green velvet hinged box with cream yellow silk and velvet interior. There are two bendable velvet fittings to hold the edges of the necklace.
While no longer made, anything similar new would be over $5000!
Note: Cultured Akoya pearl prices are soaring, according to many sources, including AGTA (the American Gem Trade Association). See their article entitled, "Buckle Up—Japanese Akoya Pearl Prices Have Skyrocketed 80% with No End in Sight" published March 8, 2023. By Jennifer Heebner, Editor in Chief.
