A glorious example of highly collectible saphiret glass comes in the form of this Art Nouveau, organically inspired pendant.
A generously sized saphiret shows off all its bronze, copper, and hummingbird blue hues in an oval that measures 15 x 11 mm or 5/8 of an inch by 7/16 of an inch. It weighs 8.12 carats, and has been removed for a light buffing.
Decoratively set, each prong is a tiny three-part, textured silver element that forms a frill around the saphiret.
Six grape leaves are supported by a textured vine of silver along with thinner vines beneath each leaf. Even the reverse is textured for a consistently organic feel.
A small bale and "O" ring have been added to allow this to be worn as a pendant, the former brooch fittings were removed.
