Story
The image of a pair of flowers, complete with stems and leaves, has been carved into the surface of a lush, deep colored amethyst of 6.8 carats. A graceful shape, it is a twist on a rectangle but with arched, convex ends.
The amethyst balances between a rich saturation of color and bright, lilac, and lavender highlights.
Gracefully incised, the foliate rendering is first painted with gold leaf, then is set with 2 petite rose cut diamonds. Often referred to as a cameo habille (even though it is not raised), both have inset gems. Each bloom is embellished with two diamonds along with four gold leaves and stems.
The setting's shoulders are tripartite touched with two fleur de lis elements, graduating down to a highly polished and tapered shank all in 9k rose gold.
Personalized, the interior is hand engraved in script, "Helen D Perdue". Who was she, what stories could she relate to us today...
