Story

Exquisite and near pristine, this Georgian brooch speaks to the heart for all those who cherish history and connection.

Made in 18k two color gold, it resembles a painting with a frame of minute handiwork. Four lighter yellow gold leaves adorn the four corners. The remainder are cannetille "beehives" of spun gold, with granulation work (tiny beads).

At the cardinal points, four petite half cabochons of turquoise dot the frame.

Under convex glass, a plume of blond hair has been preserved for about 200 years! It rests upon tan ribbed silken fabric.

On the reverse, raised patterned gold enclosed the locket compartment. The original tube hinge, "C" clasp and stem are still intact. A sentimental or memorial brooch is anxiously waiting for its new caretaker.
