Story

Conjuring up the majesty of the eighteenth century, this magnificent pendant of diamonds and exceptional Burmese rubies.

Guaranteed natural, no heat Burmese rubies encrust the surfaces of this exceptional and rare pendant.

Quintessential motifs of a plume of a feather for the top, merge with a twelve-petal flower shape for the bottom. Silver is the metal of choice, remembering it was the only precious white metal available until circa 1890.

Thirty five Burmese rubies alternate with sparkling rose cut diamonds. Note: two more are almandine garnets that are later replacements, but are difficult to detect with the eye.

One shimmering rose cut diamond visually appears as a 1 carat diamond and is nestled in a cut down, crimped setting along with another twelve rose cuts surrounding it.

In all, 57 diamonds alternate with the vibrant hot, red and fuchsia rubies. Deep and sculptural metal work, another trademark of 18th century jewelry created prior to about 1790, forms the petals and feathers.

Each of the stones is set closed backed with foiling beneath. On the reverse, rose gold fittings serve as the back of the central diamond, connection points of the two sections, and the pendant fitting.
