Story
As an archetypal Victorian English ring, this proves irresistible for the garnet lover, those born in the month of January, or those aficionados of deep plum-toned gemstones.
Five cushion-cut almandine garnets arch across the finger. Together they weigh .25 carats with subtle graduation in size.
One of our favorites, this style of setting underneath the gems is classically British and dates from about the 1860s to the 1890s. Over our many years in business, several dated and hallmarked rings similar in style have fallen within these decades.
Note the "ruffle" of gold underneath the gems that is punctuated by curls and tiny orbs of gold. Almost always, this under-gallery features a band or shank with decorative engraved surfaces differing from the shoulders and the around the finger. The top section is of 15k gold, the band 9k.
