Story

The Maltese cross dates back to the Crusades when a group of men referred to as the Knights of Jerusalem came together to aid travelers on their way to the Holy Land. The eight point of the cross had symbolic meaning.

This cross however, is more linked to a style, rather than a true symbolic or religious cross. For around 1790, the Maltese cross came back into fashion and can be found from materials such as paste, Vauxhall glass, to diamonds.

In 10k rose gold, this icy, clear rock crystal quartz pendant refracts and reflects with aplomb. Particular to the period from around 1790-1830, each faceted rock crystal is held snugly by a bezel of pinched gold, every 3 mm or so a tiny bead of precious metal forms a type of prong.

At each of the cardinal points, an orb or gold rests. Striking, sleek and refreshingly modern.
