Story
Fly Me To The Moon...an apropos snippet from, and the title of that song. Sung and made famous by Frank Sinatra those words the embody this motif of a diamond and gemstone studded butterfly alighting on a crescent moon.
Encrusted with old European and old mine cut diamonds, the moon's outer edge is pointed for a twinkling effect and the stones rest gypsy set beneath the surface.
A darling butterfly appears to alight or lift from the moon. Its wings are formed by diamonds and sapphires. Its body made up of diamonds, an emerald and a ruby. Two tiny tips of the antennae are also minute pale rubies. Linear engraving outlines the body, legs, and antennae.
Contrasting the center oval's high polished background is a rim of hand engraving that also appears on the original bale.
