Story

Exquisite in every way, this acrostic Georgian period brooch takes the form of a floor harp.

Created circa 1810, it is meticulously constructed of 18k yellow gold with a Corinthian column for the pillar. Atop this is a flower with a Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, and Diamond to spell REGARD.

Down the soundbox, two diamonds, an emerald, and two rubies add touches of color. Eleven strings are so realistic in gold, they look as if you could strum them (we tried but no go).

Around the edges, that characteristic chased gold floral work brings further texture and softness to this musical and suggestive motif.

On the reverse, a tiny round glass covered locket would have held a hair work, but this is now missing.
